Frequently Asked Questions

Signup

I have multiple websites, how do I add them?

During sign up you can only add a single website as a project. Once you've setup your account you can book more projects from within the user interface.

What is the minimum contract period?

The contract term for the use of our service, is determined by the selected payment interval and is at least a month. However we sync the contract period to the calendar month and therefore you have to book at least the remaining days of the current month and the next month.

Is the contract a subscription?

Yes, all contracts are a subscriptions with an automatic contract prolongation. You can cancel the subscription at any time within the user interface, even directly after signup.

How do you handle automatic contract prolongation?

We automatically issue new invoices on the 14th of each month for all contracts that are up for prolongation and that were not terminated until the 13th of the month.

You can cancel the subscription at any time within the user interface, even directly after signup. The contract will then end after the agreed contract term.

Account

How can I change the size of a project?

Choose "Account => Manage Account => Billing" in the left menu. You'll find a list of all your projects. You can change the size for each project by choosing "Resize" as action.

How can I cancel the subscription for a project?

Choose "Account => Manage Account => Billing" in the left menu. You'll find a list of all your projects. You can end each project by choosing "Cancel" as action.

Can you cancel my invoice generated by automatic contract prolongation?

If you did not terminate your subscription until the 13th of the month and your contract received a new invoice due to automatic contract prolongation we will not cancel that invoice.

We're sorry that we can not show obligingness here. Audisto is a highly automated service and new invoices are automatically passed on for payment processing and accounting. In addition, we book our server in advance and renew the contracts in accordance with our own contract renewals.

How can I close my account?

Choose "Account => Manage Account => Billing" in the left menu. Below the section "Contact And Invoice Settings" you'll find a link to close the account. Alternatively, you can find the same link when choosing "Profile" in the drop-down menu "Signed In As" at the top right corner.

Please note that accounts need to be inactive before they can be deleted. This means that they need to have no active projects and no unpaid invoices.

Crawling

Can I crawl any website e.g. my competition?

Yes, our service allows crawling of all websites and you can even crawl websites you don't own. However access might be restricted e.g. when the website uses a robots.txt or access might be or get blocked e.g. by a firewall. We can't tell for sure if a website is crawlable. In addition we limit crawling of unverified websites in terms of features and speed in order to prevent abuse of our service. To benefit from all out features you should verify the ownership of your websites. Verified ownership unlocks a number of features that allows you to simulate changes.

Do I have to verify the ownership of a website in order to crawl it?

Crawling of websites without verified ownership is possible, however crawling is than limited in terms of features and speed in order to prevent abuse of our service. You may crawl such sites with very few requests per minute, though. Note that our crawler may have been blocked, e.g. by using a robots.txt. To benefit from all out features you should verify the ownership of your websites. Verified ownership unlocks a number of features that allows you to simulate changes.

Audisto can detect and save external Links. This is the default behaviour. The external links will not be checked.

If Audisto finds multiple links to the same target on a page then only one link is stored. We might store all links in the future to give you more detailed reports.

How does Audisto handle nofollow?

If Audisto crawls a page that is set to nofollow or finds links marked as nofollow it will store the link and mark it as nofollow. Audisto will not crawl the linktarget until it finds another link to it that allows crawling.

You may change this behavior in the settings.

What does "Linked No Follow" mean?

"Linked No Follow" is the number of pages that could not be crawled because of the fact that there are only links marked as nofollow pointing to those sites.

What does "Beyond Crawl Limit" mean?

All crawls have an limit for the number of pages processed by the crawler. During a crawl Audisto usually finds a large number of pages very quickly and schedules those for processing. If you run into a crawl limit those unprocessed pages are shown as "Beyond Crawl Limit".
